CANCER

Uncontrolled growth of cells derived from normal tissues, being able to kill the host by the spread of cells from the site of origin to distant sites or by local spread. There are an estimated more than 200 different kinds of cancer. The important warning signals are : unusual bleeding from any internal or external body site; a lump or thickening in any area; a sore that does not heal; a change in bowel habits; persistent cough or hoarseness; difficulty in swallowing or ingesting; changes in appearance or size of a mole or wart; unexplained loss of weight. Cancerous cells grow and proliferate by stimulation from various chemicals, viruses, radiation and ultra-violet light; lifestyle factors such as high dietary fat and low fiber intake; obesity; poor nutritional habits such as high intake of processed foods, sugars, additives, preservatives, and low consumption of fruits and vegetables; alcohol, tobacco, stress.

Diet:
Eat organically grown fruits, vegetables and grains; consume lots of cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts, olive oil, fish; macrobiotic diet; vegetarian diet; raw food diet. Avoid sugar, too much salt, processed and junk foods, alcohol, tobacco, foods that contain additives, preservatives and colorings;

Vitamins B complex, C, E, beta-carotene, selenium, flaxseed oil, shark cartilage, wheatgrass, garlic capsules.

Mistletoe, pau d'arco, chaparral, burdock, slippery elm.
