SINUS PROBLEMS

Inflammation and congestion of the mucous membranes of the nasal passages, caused by food allergies and hay fever (allergenic), bacterial and viral infections of the nose and upper respiratory tract or dental infection (acute), growths in the nose, injury of nasal bones, irritant fumes, smoking (chronic sinusitis).

Diet:
Preference to raw foods, liquids, and hot drinks. Barley green, which can be used in juices or sprinkled on salads may be of help. Eliminate any foods that might have a role in causing sinus problems, such as dairy products and grains. A detoxification program for 2-3 weeks is often very helpful.

Nutrients:
Vitamin C, E, N-acetylcysteine, bromelain, garlic, coenzyme Q10.

Herbs:
Steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil added to water. Sniff a pinch of ginger into the nostrils to relieve the pain of swollen sinuses. Nettles and echinacea internally.
