From cereal grains we get also many vitamins and minerals, provided the outer part of the grain has not been removed. We also get both soluble and insoluble fiber. But remember, cereal grains are another major cause of allergies, just like dairy products. Largely, this may be due to the early introduction of these foods into an infant's diet, before the newborn could have developed the necessary but slowly developing enzyme producing mechanisms. The latter are unnecessary in the first months of life, since the infant gets its enzymes from mother's milk.

The enormous recent increase in adult allergies, may well be the result of an earlier fashion to wean infants as early as possible. Our dietary sins are not only cumulative, they are also dishonorable. We make the mistakes, and others pay for them.

Refined grains and grain products, like white bread, pasta, crackers, and overprocessed cereals. Aside from being devoid of nutrients except starch fuel, they also have very high glycemic indeces, which abruptly raise the glucose and insulin in your blood. Limit your intake of unmixed wheat bran, because it may irritate your intestines.
