MENINGITIS

Contagious inflammation of the membranes between the brain and the skull (meninges), characterized by chills, delirium, headache, high fever, nausea, red skin rash, sore throat, stiff neck. Causes may be poor nutrition, various bacteria, fungi, viruses. Early diagnosis is essential, as meningitis may be fatal.

Diet:
Balanced diet, fresh vegetables and fruit, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, yogurt. Avoid other animal products, caffeine, salt, white flour.

Nutrients:
Garlic capsules, multivitamins and minerals, zinc.

Herbs:
Echinacea.
