ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER

An infancy and childhood disorder characterized by hyperactivity, inattention, impulsiveness, and excessive distraction. Stimulants like caffeine have paradoxically a calming effect on persons with ADD.

Diet:
No well established nutritional management, but avoidance of too many refined carbohydrates and sugars may be of some help.

Nutrients:
Calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, inositol, trace elements, blue-green algae.

Herbs:
St. John's Wort may help.
