SCHIZOPHRENIA

Group of related disorders of unknown causes, characterized by disordered thinking, bizarre reactions and behavior, hallucinations. Genetic factors seem to be important, but mode of inheritance remains unknown. Other risk factors may be birth complications, infection during gestation, environmental poisons, food allergies, gluten intolerance, head injuries, nutritional deficiencies, mineral imbalance, deficiency or excess of certain fatty acids, abnormal carbohydrate metabolism.

Diet:
Since people with schizophrenia tend to have high protein levels, a carefully regulated fasting therapy helps. Eliminate highly allergenic foods such as wheat, corn and milk from diet for a while to see if there is an improvement. Cut out smoking, caffeine, teas, colas and alcohol. Eat lots of organically-grown fresh vegetables and fruits, olive oil, fish, turkey, brown rice.
