PNEUMONIA

An inflammation of the lungs resulting from a large number of causes such as bacteria, fungi, viruses and chemical infections. Symptoms include chills, cough, cyanosis or blue nails, enlarged lymph glands, fatigue, fever, and labored respiration. Common risk factors are vitamin A deficiency, alcoholism, the common cold, flu, kidney failure, malnutrition, smoking, stroke.

Diet:
Eat lots of raw vegetables and fruits, soy products, nuts and seeds. Avoid coffee, dairy products, sugar, tea, white flour and smoking.

Nutrients:
A vitamins A, B complex, C, E, beta-carotene, bioflavonoids.

Herbs:
Ginger.
