SOD ( Superdoxide Dismutase)

Function
This is an enzyme produced by the body together with its companion catalase, at the rate of about five million units a day. SOD revitalizes body cells and reduces their rate of destruction. It is an excellent antioxidant, removing the most common free radical, superoxide, a highly reactive form of oxygen. One form of SOD contains manganese, and another copper and zinc. The body's production of SOD slows down with age, while that of free radicals increases. Therefore, SOD may be profitably given to all persons exposed to free radical damage, including the sick, alcoholics, smokers, and persons of advanced age.

Uses
SOD occurs naturally in barley grass, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and most other green plants.
